what have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?



With imovies ive learnt how easy it is to edit the movies with the different transitions and effects. also ive learnt how to use different techniques such as cropping images and using the recorder



the mac was easy to use as it pro insulted programmes like imovies so it made the filming process easier as it recognised USB sticks and cameras and immediately lets you select the images or film you want



i chose the sony handcam because its easy to carry, has a good quality street and the touch screen was very useful to play back the film

who would be the audience for your media product?



as my film is a thriller the age rated will be around the age of 18-25 years as later on in the film their will be be strong language and strong violence. The gender of the audience would be more male dominated. the types of programmes they'll watch would be crime drama like five days, waking the dead and and wallander, they taste i music would be a rock genre like linkin park or biffy clydo

how does the media product represent particular social groups?



for my character comparison i chose Donnie Darko for the movie Donnie Darko. the reason i chose Donnie Darko because like my character, Donnie Darko is a smart teenager but has changed is personality and attitudes recently. in the movie Donnie Darko wears a hoodie like my character to hide his face. but unlike my character Donnie Darko doesnt deal with the pressures of school and does not die in the end of the film

in what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge form and convention of the media product?

the title of the film

i chose the title "taking care of business" cause it shows connotation and denotations of work and chores. so it goes well with the opening as the main character has to dispose of the body (the chore) and his killings is his job.


setting/location

for the locations i used my house and a footpath

house:
i chose the house cause its connotations of safety, and no one knows outside whats going on in the house. i also chose the house as it identical wit the other houses so it looks normal


footpath:
i chose the footpath because it looked secluded, also it shows mysterious and the wood indicated that he is trying to hide something (the body)

camerawork:
for the camerawork i used the idea from the BBC sport quiz 'question of sport' when they show the clip of the mystery guest wear the camera hides the face. i used this concept to add to the mystery of the main character.


costume and props:

costume:
the main character is wear a hoodie to show he is tying to hide his face. he also wears camo style trousers shows that the character is an "outdoorsy" person which is also indicated by his walking shoes as they need to by robust.

props:
the props is a bag to show the character has a job or hes a student, another prop is a shovel to dig the hole and the murder weapon (hammer) as he throws it in the hole.

story opening:
the story opens when the camera looks around the main characters bedroom to establish the place to the audience, is sound is a non diegetic sound from the imovies music library, the sound makes the the setting mysterious tone. then the camera does a close up of the tv which is set on white noise, this builds suspense in the scene then the non diegetic sound stop and is replaced by a alarm clock sound and the camera turns to the alarm

genre and suggestions why:
my genre is a crime thriller. it shows the genre of crime by the murdered body and the thriller genre as they were lots of suspense and mystery

how the characters introduced: the characters is introduced in his bedroom asleep, this shows that its a normal enviroment which adds to the effect of the mystery of the character
